Ohio suffers a misconception of having nothing but straight roads. Certainly in the northern part of the state where modernization and development have straightened roads to reduce travel time and increase safety, this hold true.
South of route 30, the Old Lincoln Highway, roads have not been rerouted. The roads in southeast Ohio were plotted long ago. These roads were built around streams and hillsides and remain with paths unaltered. This means great curves and changes in elevation all within a days drive. There are lots of places to stop and stretch your legs.
I suggest you do not take a map. Just load up the family and friends, roll the windows and top down. Wander around the countryside with no agenda other than stopping to enjoy the food and sights. Be safe and enjoy!( more )

If you are thinking of buying a used car here are a few suggestions. Look at where you are buying. Dealerships usually have the highest quality of used cars. Anything that is suspect or lower quality is sent to an auction where other dealers may buy and resell them. The lowest quality cars are usually found at the “Buy Here Pay Here” lots. Look at posted warranties. If a dealer trusts a used car they will offer a warranty, perform E-check and offer a Carfax report.
You can find good deals with private buyers but the risk is higher. Ohio law is buyer beware on private sales. Once the money and vehicle are exchanged there is little recourse. An E-check and a Carfax report are very helpful from private buyers too.
At Innovative Autocare, we can also perform …… ( more )
Yesterday I was asked “do you work on foreign cars?” The answer is yes we do. The caller asked my thoughts on the new Fiat 500. I feel that it will fall into the group of limited production exclusive cars such as Lexus, BMW, Volkswagen, Hummer, Infiniti, Jaguar, Saab … I call them “Lease Vehicles.” They are great cars for 3 or 4 years while they are under warranty and mileage under 100,000.
After that the trouble develops. Parts can be harder to find and more expensive. Repairs can be more complex and require special tools. Information from the manufacturer is not as accurate or complete as Domestic or mass produced Japanese models. These exclusive cars are finicky and temper mental. Bottom line is we can and have worked on most lines of vehicles, but be prepared to pay …… ( more )

There will be a host of additional changes all geared toward improving the customer experience and continuing to provide the best auto repair service in Akron.( more )
The summer of 2012 was chaotic. Our former lead tech took a job with another company in June. We had three different employees attempt to replace him and fail. Adam stepped up and really improved his skills and contribution but we still needed a leader. Finally we hired Andrew and he has really helped stabilize the company allowing me to get back to managing and fixing the problems I need to take care of quickly and correctly. Andrew has experience at Hyundai and Suburu dealerships, Midas franchises and independent repair shops. He is really good with diagnostics and easy to get get along with. Stop in and meet Adam and Andrew sometime.( more )
What do all those numbers on the side of the tire mean? Lets examine a tire for 2004 Chevy Trailblazer. This particular tire is a Goodyear Fortera P245/65R17 105S. The letter “P” is designated as a passenger car tire. The other possibility would be an LT or light truck tire. 245 is the width of the tire in millimeters or about 9.6 inches. 65 is the percentage of tire that is sidewall. A 70 series tire has more sidewall and rides softer than a 50 series tires. The 50 series tire will have less side wall flex and corner better than the 70 series tire but the ride will be rougher. R designates radial construction. 17 is the rim diameter in inches. The load index of 105 indicates that this tire can support up to 2039 pounds. Load index ratings …… ( more )
